Jet first met Nina in 1989 while the two were working on the film Dragon Fight. At the time, both were already established figures in the entertainment world.
Nina had built a successful acting career of her own, becoming one of Hong Kong cinema’s prominent actresses. Over time, however, she stepped away from the spotlight and devoted much of her attention to her family.
The couple eventually married in 1999.
Together, they raised two daughters and built a private family life far removed from the constant attention that surrounded Jet’s movie career.
And somewhere along the way, Jet placed an extraordinary amount of trust in Nina.
He essentially allowed her to take responsibility for much of the family’s finances.
Jet has spoken humorously about just how little he personally worries about the details.
If he is outside and suddenly wants to purchase something costly, he may need to contact his assistant and ask a very simple question:
“Do I have money?”
